Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Parallel Hours LLC is a Colorado limited liability company that operates the Parallel Hours time tracking and developer KPI platform at parallelhours.io ("the Service"). Questions about this policy can be sent to support@parallelhours.io.

2. What We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Email address and password (or OAuth token if you sign in with GitHub)
  • Display name (optional)
  • Time tracking data: projects, tasks, time entries, notes, and AI usage logs you create
  • Personal Access Tokens you generate for API access

Information collected automatically:

  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps)
  • Error reports when the application encounters a problem

We do not collect payment information directly — payments are processed by a third-party provider (Stripe) and we receive only a subscription status signal.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and operate the Service (displaying your tasks, computing KPIs, etc.)
  • To send account-related emails (activation, password reset, billing notifications)
  • To diagnose and fix bugs and improve the Service
  • To enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use your time tracking data to train AI models. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. AI Features

Parallel Hours includes an optional AI-powered task estimation feature. When you request an estimate, the task title, description, and acceptance criteria are sent to the Anthropic API to generate a time estimate. This data is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Estimation is opt-in and only triggered when you click the estimate button.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:

  • Service providers — hosting (Railway), error tracking (Sentry), and payment processing (Stripe) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Parallel Hours LLC or others

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Free accounts with no activity for 12 months may be deleted with prior email notice. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@parallelhours.io. We will complete deletion within 30 days.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: HTTPS for all connections, hashed passwords (never stored in plain text), hashed API tokens, and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Export your data (coming soon — JSON/CSV export)

9. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a CSRF cookie for security. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics scripts are loaded.

10. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice before they take effect. The "effective date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
